are welcomed throughout the year to join in with our open weeks where
you may spend time working, celebrating and meditating alongside us in
a sense of openness, honesty and appreciation for all that we have.
We
invite you to come and join us for one or two weeks, or perhaps longer
if you wish and children are always welcome. They usually love the adventure
and freedom of the island.

Samhain
(Halloween) 25 October – 1 November 2008
This
is the summer’s end and the beginning of the Celtic New Year. A
time when the veil between the worlds is at it’s thinnest.This
year we will be lighting the sacred fires and leaving space for the souls
gone from this plane so that they may also enjoy the company of friends
and loved ones for stories and singing. We will also be using the fires
to symbolically cleanse our living spaces and ourselves.
And
let’s not forget turnip lanterns, special treats and oh so chilly
ghost stories.

Winter
Solstice 13 – 20 December 2008
This is a time to pause, to perceive the seeds of our future growth, to
gather intent and make our resolutions for the coming months. A time for
gathering in the celebration tree, and making decorations from evergreens
and other materials of the land. A time of singing, feasting, bonfires,
meditation and gifts for each other.
Leave
behind the hype, the marketing and merchandising of Christmas and enjoy
a real family atmosphere during this so special a time.

New
Year Retreat 29th December 2008 – 3rd January 2009
If the thought of another 'noisy, garish New Year's Eve' leaves you cold, then
perhaps you should consider joining our small community for what promises to
be a more 'natural' celebration.
The week will allow lots of time for walks out onto the island, meals with
friends, talks, chats and even a traditional Celidh whilst our sanctuary will
offer daily meditation and singing.

Our
acceptance of winter is giving way to an urge to move forwards into a
Springtime energy. Join
us as we prepare for the emergence of Spring with Earth meditations in
our woodlands, bonfires on the beach and the planting of trees and seeds.

Spring
Equinox 21st – 28th March 2009
Everything
in nature is coming alive and the days are getting warmer. It’s
time to throw off the restraints of winter and reach out for what it
it we want in ourselves. Come
and join the rest of us Mad March Hares as we enjoy the emergence of
Spring with the painting of eggs, planting of seeds, jumping in puddles
and visits to near-by Easter Island for the Great Chocolate Egg Hunt.

Beltane
25th April - 2nd May 2009
A festival for friends and for lovers - for a joining of the male and the female
energies together and for honouring that union. This is a special time of gathering
for music, dancing, singing, building fires, clearing out the old and bringing

and for walking our great stone spiral by moonlight.

Summer
Solstice 20th – 27th June 2009
The
wheel turns, the summer won’t last forever, lets be clear about
what it is we want to achieve. With
a bounty of food and blessings from our gardens, we share together
in singing, stories and meditations at power points across the island.
This is a wonderful time to ‘just be’ amidst some of the
most breathtaking landscapes on the west coast of Scotland.

Mabon (Autumn Equinox) 19th – 26th

This
is a time for reconciling opposites, to bring our different aspects into
balance: male and female, dark and light, old and young. Let’s
honour and celebrate our ‘whole self’ and all life. Let’s
enjoy the abundance of our gardens as we gather in our produce and come
together for our ‘Harvest Festival celebrations. With singing,
dancing, stories and laughter we honour the changes in Earth energies
that take place at this time.
