In January
2006 some angels dropped me on this little island for a holiday.
Looking around from a hilltop, I was welcomed by a glorious
fiery sunset over the Isle of Iona, and – turning round – by a full moon
rising in the darkening blue sky over the mountains on Mull. Maybe
this was the moment when my heart decided to stay. It felt like
part of me had
come home.
In spring
2007 I came back to live on Erraid. Since then I have stepped into a large
variety
of activities that I had never imagined to learn (like wood splitting,
tractor riding, candle making, ... ), feeling the joy of sharing and contributing
to a larger vision together with other people. Community life offers
a new
intensity and richness as well as new challenges for me, and it
invites many of my unknown parts and resources to come out.

Used to city life and indoor jobs before,
it is exciting for me to experience how much our days here are influenced
by nature, by sudden changes of wind and weather, by the rhythms of sea
and moon, light and darkness. The
constant change and beauty of land, sea and sky is stunning, and it reminds
me of what a tiny part of creation we are. |
