Working WeekArriving on Saturday there is plenty of time to settle into your cottage and have a cup of tea before a short tour of our settlement ensures you know your way around. Sunday is a great day for you to join us for a walk across the island to sit with our colony of wild seals, sooth your feet in the azure waters of Balfour Bay or simply to enjoy the unspoiled wildness of this little visited shoreline. Following a short meeting each weekday morning, we join together for work in one of the many areas on offer. Gardens, candle studio, warm kitchens, open landscape or working with our firewood can all be enjoyed for a couple of hours in the morning. A wonderful lunch is on offer at 12.30 and then we join together again at 2.00pm for the afternoon to finish around 4.45pm in time for meditation and singing, where you would be most welcome to join in. The day is completed following a scrumptious dinner, although many evenings develop into movies, beach walks, games nights, a swim and much more. After joining us for work on Monday and Tuesday, we encourage you to enjoy a day of complete rest on Wednesday, but if you are after something a little more active then we are happy to transport you into the local village where you can catch a ferry across to the mystical isle of Iona and its impressive abbey. Thursday we join together in work again which leads us into Friday. Following giving a little loving care back into the houses that have held us for the week, the afternoon is given over to ‘personal completion’. This is simply another space for you to do just what it is you may feel you have missed and would like to do to feel complete and may be anything from simply walking across the island to the sea cave to jumping off the pier in wild abandonment. What a great week! |
